It’s day two I released part 3 earlier today now it’s time for part 4. I hope your finding the series useful and remember, I always list links to other products in and at the end of my posts. These are going to save you a lot of time! Trust me it’s hard to find the right products to maximize and streamline the AdSense process so check them out.
Positioning of the ads in the proper places on a web page is equally important as the contents and the enhancements to increase CTR and traffic. Adsense provides a range of positions like Banner position, the side spot and bottom positions. Positioning is of utmost importance and should be done taking care of the contents of a web page and the various utilities associated with the page.
One important aspect that affects the CTR through ads positioning is the inner content linking, which is, keeping your ad catch line visible and the rest of the matter inside. This can give you higher CTR. You can also experiment with ad positions over a period of time and find out which position would be the best option for placing the ads. But the usage of linking in your ads would be an unethical thing to do after you write an inner content to your external ads. Adsense positioning success may come through sheer luck or continuous analysis of changing positions along with the click through rate. Multiple insertions in between the posts can also help to gain CTR.
Among some of the most favorable positions is the position near the comment section on a web page. In any kind of blogging portal the comments section is very important since it lets the viewers or the blogger leave their opinions about the blog topic. So almost every blogger visits this section, and visibility of the ad at this position is favorable. But care should be taken to make your content short else it might be very irritating for the viewer to check the ad scrolling to the bottom of the page.
The bottom-line is you have to make it attractive, clear in content and pleasing in the first instance. But you won’t be able to modify the ad code as put in the web page. Again some of the cons of publishers are pointed out when we find ads promising incentives for clicking on them. This kind of approach to draw traffic is highly negative. If any confusions regarding the publishing or positioning arise then the publisher can request AdSense to check out the ads and tell him whether he is within the guidelines of the agreement. The best positions would be easier to find out if you use applications like the Google heat map which provides areas with maximum popularity with varied colors. An application called the AdSense Deluxe or CrazyEgg can also be used for the same purpose.
Through experimental analysis it has been observed that the ads on the top of the page which are above contents ply the best as the viewers click on them mostly without scrolling down much. And if the ad is placed above the content on a page it should be made large enough for the viewer to click o it. Small boxes are not accepted by the viewers very often. The ads can be made viewable by keeping the colors for text and URL the same. And blend of a vertical link unit on the navigation menu would be good enough. The last concern would be security from hacks and proper installation of plug-ins so the ad you position works well all the time.
