Adsense, Make Money Online

When Google developed the concept of Adsense, it may not have even been suspected by Google that the transformation of the Internet would be so vast. As with anything, change offers a positive and a negative, and certainly with Adsense, we will see that there is a multitude of outcomes on each flip side.

As you know, Google Adsense is a program that allows any Web publisher to offer “inventory” to Google to promote their advertisements. For every click that your Web site results, you receive a small kick back. Multiply that small kick back by hundreds of thousands and you are looking at some serious earning potential for any Web publisher.

Additionally, prior to the onset of Adsense, there was growing popularity with Adwords, the convenient advertising program offered by Google that allowed published to produce their own advertising campaign for as little as $5 to generate traffic on their Web site. In addition, it allowed Web pages to obtain prominent exposure that was previously only possible through old-school media, like newspapers or magazines or television commercials (like we can all afford a commercial, right?). The options, in many regards, made Web promotion prohibitive to publishers and therefore, unless you were Yahoo or Microsoft, it was hard to find real viable ways to generate traffic. Adwords, however made it possible to compete with the big dogs. There was no longer a need to hire an ad agency to secure what is considered “hot real estate” in the world of advertising. Now any mom-and-pop shop on the Internet can go through the easy process that Google created to produce an ad campaign. Even if you are not a crafty word-smith, Google produced a ton of great tools to help produce keywords and guide your ad creation process. For a very affordable price, and a little bit of research, a link to your site could be along side some of the big players in a Google search for a given keyword.

The growing popularity of Adsense seemed to fuel the popularity of Adwords as well. Likely because so many publishers were catching on to all the various benefits offered through both programs.

One of the drawbacks that some people identified with Adwords campaigns is the high-maintenance aspect of the campaign. Sure Google provides features where you can set up an ad and a daily budget and just let your campaign run on auto-pilot. Who would not be more than willing to run your credit card every day for whatever your daily campaign budget is. A five-dollar budget sounds very affordable when you are talking about your advertising costs for today, but when you extend that into a month or a year, $150 or $1800 are figures that you might give a second thought to.

To determine whether an Adsense ad is effective, there is a need to really monitor your click-through rates, as well as what people who are clicking are doing. Are the buying your product? If not, is the traffic really worth it? If they are not buying your product, why not? Is it the landing page, your presentation, or you attracting Web surfers with expectations that are not being fulfilled by your Web site? In that case, you need to look at your ad copy.

Maybe people who are coming to your site are clicking your Adsense ads and leaving your site. That might be great for your Adsense revenues, but is that the real objective to your site? Say you are selling widgets on your Web site, and you have Adsense ads running alongside your products. One of your competitors with a cleverly crafted ad could likely snatch your customer if your Web page does not do an effective enough job of keeping the visitor there to view your offerings.

It boils down to what your objectives are with your Web site. What are you trying to accomplish? Do you want to produce a site that allows you to sell high-profile advertising because of the sheer amounts of traffic that come through your site? Or are you looking to sell a product or service? Or are you just trying to promote an idea? Whatever your objective is, that will have an impact on how your Adsense ads should be utilized on your page. Bottom line is, you may not want to give up the prime real estate on your Web page to Google.

By earning some few dollars per click from displaying AdShoker ads on it. Many are now realizing that good money is made from this source of revenue. Try the simple mathematical computation of multiplying those clicks for every page on your website and you get a summation of earnings equivalent to a monthly residual income.
